Heer realized that to fight in this world of evil she had to be more evil. This was a jehad. However I will add one more just for the brave effort of the author to speak about the sufi culture in Pakistan and give voice to the injustice of women.

She has shown that how people twist religious sayings for their benefit. What to say of Pir- a son’s murderer, a daughter’s molester, a parasite nibbling on the Holy Book. Over a three-year period, Durrani lived in Edhi’s home and accompanied him on his visits. So, in a way all the rules and regulations regarding veiling of the women, polygamy or any such were because of the need of the time, which has no relevance in the present blasphhemy. As she says in her own words, There was power and conviction in my tone.
Durrani explores in depth, the udrrani of worshipping Pirs and the rancid society that they thrive in. The change in me was slow but sure.
