Ti scivola addosso, come seta. View all 6 comments.

View all 4 comments. Mar 30, Floripiquita rated it it was ok.

A few sentences are remarkable and the simplicity of the whole thing can be interesting but in the end it seemed like a draft – and not because it is a relatively small book, I’m not into books that look like a brick anyway, but I just didn’t care for any of the characters -besides the silk worms and the prostitute.

It was just a big frustration and I seriously advise anyone to read Without Blood – maybe the trick is to read it only after reading Silk ; I honestly admit that I don’t quite know what to think of this booklet. It contains many attractive aspects: But at the same time, there are several things in the story that made me hesitate: Also in the reviews on this site, one can see that this short story provokes very different interpretations.

Yes, there were some telling moments and a play of gentleness and sorrow as well as scenes of genuine emotion. But despite all that, I simply didn’t enjoy the monotonous style. Possibly something was lost in the translation but so much of it was simply flat.

I didn’t relate well to the various characters because I felt that generally the prose conveyed very little inner life. Of course that is not true of that final drama at the end which I’m afarid that I wasn’t really impressed by this novel.

Of course that is not true of that final drama at the end which carries an enormous emotonal power. Generally, though, the plot simply did not engage me. E Seta non fa eccezione, anzi. Jul 12, Rebecca rated it it was ok. Failed articulation of erotic longing.
