This a collection of some of the early short stories of the acclaimed British writer Ian McEwan. Each of these stories pushes some kind of assumption, sex-related. I picked this up while visiting Dublin. Of course there are flaws.
More technically assured iaj the sabanae collection, and with more bite. I would like it a lot if not for the author’s adolescent obsession with effluvia: Some of the stories are a few pages too long, and one, about a post-apocalyptic London, I found felt more like a B-rated made-for-TV Scifi than a modern short story.
