Shortly into production, Leo added the truss rod to the snaiehead with an adjustment at the heal due to pressure from his sales team led by Don Randall and renamed the guitar the Broadcaster. I’m glad the design continued to snakeead. Note that GuitarsByDesign and other makers offer Snakehead necks that do have a truss rod.

Of course it would not be a Fender or a ‘licensed’ Fender neck, so DukexMar 2, I like them very much, and will probably build one some day–possibly with a P At least that’s what I heard. This was the first Fender prototype.

JMHO but what developed into the Esqire, Nocaster to Telecaster is the most pleasing of the Fender range- but that’s just one man’s opinion. That would be a deal killer for me.

But hey, I have no dog in the fight since I really don’t care for the sound of no truss rod guitars, compared to similar ones with a vintage style rod. They sell on eBay as well. Seemed to fit what I had in mind perfectly at a ffender reasonable price.

Once upon a time, rough and ready players just kept going as the neck began its journey into uselessness.

Likely Fender picked ash as it was also inexpensive and was readily available in the qualities they needed in a desirable weight. The bolt-on neck was innovative and very controversial. Also, a few others I’ve had: Leo thought the Stratocaster would totally replace the Telecaster and was surprised both models co-existed successfully. That’s a lot of money to have problems with the neck or setting up the action!!

Jul 18, Do you already have an account? Pickguards change to thicker single layer white one and custom color Teles offered three layer celluloid mint green pickguard. I also don’t have that kind of money to spend in the first place though.
